About Prosperity Candle

Beautiful designs, luxurious fragrances, tremendous good

Located in a studio in an old mill building in Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts, we make small batch candles by hand.

Prosperity Candle is a social enterprise founded in 2009 by like-minded people seeking positive change in the world. We operate at the intersection of business and philanthropy, prioritizing purpose over profit to create sustainable impact.

Each of us comes from a different walk of life, yet we share a common dream: a world where women have equal opportunity to thrive. We believe investing in women and girls creates a brighter future for all.

Prosperity Candle started by supporting women's entrepreneurship in Iraq to help foster economic independence, particularly for widows. Since then we've expanded to working with women's programs in Haiti and creating living wage jobs for refugees here in the U.S.

Every candle your purchase creates a world of good. Plus we are members of the World Fair Trade Organization and GreenAmerica, and are B-Corp certified for social and environmental sustainability.

What we really, really love is designing unique, beautiful candles that delight customers. From our popular Quote Travel Tins to our distinctive Rice Bowl Candles, each is handcrafted with the highest quality ingredients, one at a time.

We hope you will join us in combining light, beauty and purpose to inspire a brighter future for all.

Six years ago, Moo Kho lived in a refugee camp with her husband and daughter. Unable to further her education or pursue work, her future was limited. And having lost everything, it was difficult to see how life could improve.

Then she had the opportunity to relocate to the U.S. through UN and federal programs, and start a new life. A year later Moo Kho joined Prosperity Candle as an apprentice candle-maker. We provided training, transportation and flexible hours, making it possible for her to fulfill family commitments while earning her first paycheck.

Today Moo Kho is our Production Manager with a stake in the company's future. She trains other women in the art of candle-making, creating opportunities for them to follow in her footsteps. In just a few years, Moo Kho has journeyed from hopelessness to opportunity, from refugee to entrepreneur. From simply surviving to truly thriving.

As we grow, Prosperity Candle will continue to create opportunities for women refugees here in the U.S., and to support women's entrepreneurship around the world. Each candle brightens the lives of many.

Thank you for making this possible.
